Preparing of the Serial Transnational World Heritage Nomination


The preparation of the Serial Transnational Nomination «Postwar Central Magistrals in Eastern and Central Europe (1940s-1950s)» was discussed by an international expert group at relevant workshops during 2015-2017.

The workshops were prepared and conducted by the Foundation Cultural Heritage and Modernity in cooperation with the National Commission of the Republic of Belarus for UNESCO and German partners – the Institute of Heritage Management (IHM) of the Cottbus-Zenftenberg (BTU, Germany) with the financial support of the German Federal Foreign Office.

During the event experts discussed topical issues of preparing the nomination, criteria and attributes of heritage objects and the formulation of universal world value. The workshop was attended by experts from Belarus, Russia, Poland, Ukraine, Germany, as well as representatives of state bodies, scientific and public organizations in the field of protection of cultural and natural heritage of the Republic of Belarus.

Recommendations were developed during the discussion aimed at preparing this nomination at the level of all interested parties.
